Hi prayer partners,
Thanks for hanging in there with us. This is a great time of the year to celebrate, in special ways, the birth of our Lord! It is difficult not to get caught up in the “trappings” and lose the joy of the season. This season gives us the opportunity to share with those we love and to invite those we have on our hearts to church with us. It is said the times of the year that people are most likely to go to church is during Christmas and Easter. So let’s reach out in special ways to those about us. After all, the birth of Jesus is GOOD NEWS and people are so in need of the very GOOD NEWS that we have inside of us.
I. Our special thanks:
1. Our Administrative meetings on Mardi Gras are going well. The people we have contacted so far, are responding positively, with very few exceptions. PTL! Thanks for your prayers on that. “Except the Lord builds the house, we labor (call) in vain.
II. Our special needs
1. This week, one of my special readings, is the book of James. It is sure speaking to my heart as it lays out a very practical Christian walk. Yes, I feel the pressures of Mardi Gras and need to hear the Lord.
2. We need for two places to open up for housing for Mardi Gras to replace the two places we lost. Problem is that we need to have a “contact” that knows us and that knows the people in charge at the places we need. Pray for us to have favor as we contact those people we think will have such contacts. Pray for favor and “open doors (places to stay.) We will be contacting those people we think will have such contacts.
Give thanks with us for all those who have already committed to working with us at Mardi Gras and for the Lord to lay on the hearts of many men to take the gospel with us and bring other men with them. My favorite passage for promoting Mardi Gras is Psalm 133 for the Lord to anoint us in leadership and for the Lord to pass that anointing on to the last man going with us.
Thanks for your prayers and have a blessed Christmas.
Love ya’s
Fred
