Prayer Requests for Week of March 28, 2012

Hi prayer friends,

Thanks for your prayers for our board meeting last Friday night as we had some important decisions to make. The meeting was one of our best meetings with good discussion and input on some issues.

- Jeff Pursley got to go home from the hospital after being in the hospital in Hattiesburg, MS for 26 days. Ron Kuhnert brought Jeff and Jeannie home in his motor home. Jeff is still not able to walk on his infected leg. Let’s believe the Lord to restore that leg to full use.

- We had reports from board members who had just returned from Honduras and Africa and the Lord blessed both mission trips.

- We reviewed the camp sites from the Mardi Gras trip. One church will not be available for next year, but another came in to take its place. PTL!!

- We had a good discussion on how to conduct our Indy 500 mission trip. We plan to have two camps. One will be for those who can come early and work the streets on Friday night and the other will be for those who have to come later because of work.

- Pray for us to find the second camp location as I work on that this week.

- Pray for the Lord to call forth men for the Indy 500 Outreach in May.

I want to thank all of you who pray, support and participate in No Greater Love.

Love ya’s lots!

In His service,
Fred

Prayer Requests for March 23, 2012

Hi prayer friends,

Tonight is our March Advisory Board Meeting at the Methodist Church in Du Quoin, Illinois. This will be an exciting meeting. We will be going through the evaluation forms of each man from our Mardi Gras Mission trip last month. We need prayer to see what God blessed and what we need to change for God to bless in the future. Pray that we will see who the Lord is moving along and who needs to move to a different position for the Lord to move them along as well. I have been through the evaluations and now the Board will do the same tonight.

Tonight we will hear from Jerry Johnson who has just returned from a mission trip to Liberia, Africa and from Marvin Steinke who has just returned from Honduras. I know we will all benefit from the “afterglow” of their experiences. That is always exciting.

We will be working on how to go about our Indianapolis 500 mission trip in May. Pray for us to have wisdom as to what the Lord would have us do concerning this trip.

Thanks for your prayers,

Love ya’s,
Fred

Prayers Answered for Jeff!

Great News and an answer to Prayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-17-12

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope you all have had your fill of corned beef & cabbage!

After a month of hospital food and take out, we were so happy to eat real food again! I wanted to let you all know, we made it home. The trip took two days, which we had planned. We went nice & slow, stopped whenever we needed to, and still made good time. Our friend, Ron Kunhert stayed in Mississippi until we were able to travel, then he brought Jeff home in his motor home.

Jeff was able to lay down in the bed for the whole trip, which he managed well. We decided to stop and rest, and "ride out the storm" in a Missouri rest area just inside the bootheel. There was a lot of lightning, wind and rain that night, and driving through it, tired, did not sound smart.

But we enjoyed the show!

Upon arrival, we had family and friends ( and the local EMTs) to assist us into the house, and have spent today recuperating.

Jeff is resting in the living room currently, and wanted me to be sure and let you all know how truely thankful we are for all your support and prayers, and how blessed we feel to have friends and prayer partners like you. Many of you sent emails or texts at just the right moments, encouraging us, me especially! It is amazing how many people answered the call for prayer!

And thank you, Roger, for your daily reminders of God's love and provision! They are so appreciated!

We now have the rehab days ahead of us, and rebuilding his strength is going to take determination and perserverance. But we know that the Lord will be with us, and make us strong again, in His time. (Thanks, Ivan, for the gentle reminders!)

Thank you all, and may the Lord bless each one of you!

Weekly Prayer Request; Mar 16, 2012

Hi prayer friends,

Troy Benitone and the Medical team are doing great in Liberia. I got a note last night from Troy last night. The medical team has seen over 1500 in the clinic. The surgeons have operated on almost 200 people. Last night was the first night of the Crusade and tonight will be the second night. Please remember the team today and for the Lord to move mightily in the Crusade tonight. Pray for Troy as he is having some
difficulty with his voice for the preaching tonight.

Sylvia Reinmiller's team and Marvin and Karen Steinke's team have been doing clinics in Honduras this week.

Please remember our Board meeting for this coming Friday night as we go through the Mardi Gras evaluations. Pray the Lord will show us through the evaluations the changes that need to be made for the future and to recognize what the Lord did in the lives of the men and that we might be able to encourage how the Lord is working in each man.

God is good!

Love ya's,
Fred

Update on Jeff Pursley - 3/3/2012

Hi everyone,

This is our latest report from Jeannie concerning the situation with Jeff Pursley at the hospital in Hattiesburg, AL.

Fred

--------------------------------

Subject: Latest update

Good evening! Boy, we've had a whirlwind day. Sitting here right now, watching a "tornado" reflection move right at us. Lightning, thunder, and darkness. Father, please calm the storm. Sorry I didn't get an update out yesterday. Internet kept kicking me off.

Jeff has been very busy today. Had dialysis early. Five hours treatment. Got back to his room, ready for a nap. No such luck. Nurses, lunch. Doctors, nurses, physical therapists, student nurses, dinner, bath, on & on. Finally, around 5:00 pm, he was given a break. Fell right asleep. Then at 6:00, here they came again. Poor Jeff.

Physically, he is much improved. The catheter was removed today. Physical therapy continues to help him regain his strength. More dialysis scheduled for Monday. They continue to monitor daily, so we make new goals daily.

Thank you, Father, for calming the storm.

Missing all of you!
Jeff & Jeannie
